What's the max amount I can request?
$5000 USD is the maximum request for the pilot round of the Mona Grants Program. There is no minimum!
When's the deadline?
Submit your proposal through this form by March 10th, 2023 - 11:59pm EST to be considered for the first round of grants!
I don't have any team-mates, is that ok?
Individuals are encouraged to submit as well as teams, however if your grant submission is highly ambitious, we hope you will consider finding team-mates. Judges will consider how ‘realistic’ a grant proposal is as part of the selection process. Dream big, but have a plan!
Where can I find team-mates?
We will be holding a team-building workshop on February 27, 2023 please join us! If you can’t make it or would like another way of looking, reach out in the #collaborations channel or the #grants-public channel.
Is NSFW content allowed?
Content created for the Mona Grants program should be appropriate for a general audience (think what is appropriate in a public space in your city). NSFW content is allowed on the platform within certain limits - for more information read here.
I can't submit in time for the deadline, will there be another round?
Absolutely, this is just the beginning! Expect the second round of grants to commence in Q3 2023. Builders are always welcome to develop ideas for the next round. Reach out in the #grants channel for more information.
Can we submit multiple proposals?
Absolutely! Your welcome to submit multiple proposals during each round.
The project I want to submit doesn't fit in any category, can I still submit?
Yes, if you have another innovative idea that doesn’t fit the categories - submit to the Open category, or submit to the category that best describes your project. You can explain your vision in the description box provided.
My submission contains content from another Metaverse as well as Monaverse - is that ok?
Your submission should be primarily oriented towards Mona, but if it includes elements of other metaverses - or involves cross-metaverse pollination that is great!
I haven't heard back about my submission, why not?
We’re currently working through all the submissions and will announce the next steps soon!
How many submissions can I make?
You’re welcome to submit multiple proposals but encourage you to focus your energies on one proposal and make it the best it can be.💫
I used AI to create part of my proposal, is that ok?
Absolutely, you’re welcome to use AI to make your proposal but please disclose if you have done so. Remember, your submission has a limited length - make every word count.
I have never built before but really want to apply can I apply?
The pilot round of the Mona Grants program is oriented towards more-experienced builders as we work out the process and establish guidelines! That being said, if you have a compelling, well thought-out submission, we would love to consider it!
Will there be help if I have any questions when getting my proposal ready?
Yes, you can post questions for us in our Grants discord channel and we will be hosting grant workshops once a week during the 4 week submission window.
What if I’m accepted into the program and need technical help?
Each grant recipient will have an exclusive Discord channel to share their progress, provide updates, and seek assistance with any questions that may arise.
Do the designs submitted remain ours? Will this submission have to be minted?
IP and designs are owned by creators. We are encouraging grantees to mint completed projects, but that depends on the specific proposal.
